Honda CBR 250 RR Might Launch In 2019- Price, Specs, Launch Date

Check out the possible launch date, expected price, specs, and top-speed of the Honda CBR250RR. This superbike is expected to launch in India by 2019. The price expectation for this bike is around Rs 3 Lakhs. Read ahead to get more details on this upcoming superbike.

Currently, the Honda CBR 250R is the most powerful model in Honda 2 Wheeler’s s India lineup. For a long time, there have been speculations about the Honda CBR 250RR launching in India. Honda has not confirmed it yet, but we expect that it might launch in India by 2019. Once launched, it will take on KTM RC 200, Kawasaki Ninja 300, BMW G 310 R and Apache RR310. The CBR 250RR is the closest that you can get to a track-ready machine from Honda. The 250R is just for the streets. Despite everything, it seems quite similar to its elder models like the 1000RR. The bike features Twin Projector Headlamps, Digital Speedometer Console, dual-exhaust Clip-on, LED DRLS, LED Taillights, Split Seats, and Dual-Channel ABS. Despite everything, these bikes are not meant to have features and should be capable enough. Let’s check out if this monster is worthy enough?

The CBR250RR gets a very sporty and an aggressive design that makes it very attractive. The bike’s dual-LED headlamps, chiseled fuel tank, digital instruments, inverted front forks and other such bits make it a ‘Race Replica’ in a true sense. Powering this bike is an all-new twin-cylinder 250cc liquid-cooled engine that outputs 36 BHP and 22.5 Nm. Honda claims the bike is suitable for use on both public roads and race circuit. The bike offers 3 engine modes and Throttle-by-Wire (TBW) technology. The motor comes along with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Subsequently, it could finally launch in our market by mid-2019.

Honda CBR 250RR India – Design Review

The new Honda CBR250RR borrows in plenty from the Lightweight Supersport concept. Hence, the quarter-litre bike looks really sporty with a dual headlamp setup which boasts projectors and LED DRLs. There’s also a huge windscreen to enable the ride to duck down at high speeds. The chiselled fuel tank further enhances the sportiness quotient of the design, Other major highlights of the design include a digital speedo console, split seats, and twin exhausts. We feel that this bike looks sleeker, sharper and sportier than both Yamaha YZF R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.

Check out the price, top speed, mileage, and features of the 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R. It is the most expensive 160cc motorcycle from Honda, placed above the X Blade and CB Unicorn 160. The bike is priced starting from Rs 84,675 to Rs 92,675 (ex-showroom Delhi). Read ahead to get more details .

Honda 2 wheelers India currently has 3 160cc bikes in India, each at a huge price difference. The entry-level 160cc bike is the CB Unicorn 160, followed by X Blade and then the CB Hornet 160R. In our case, we take on the most expensive 160cc motorcycle from Honda, the Hornet. Now, the 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R comes with features such as Fuel Injection, ABS, Digital Speedometer and LED lighting. These features are fair enough for a 160cc bike. Most importantly, it gets ABS which is found in found only in Gixxer. The main competitor for this bike is Apache RTR 160 4V. But, Apache is priced lesser than this bike. Overall, the 150-160cc segment is base and is growing tremendously. The growth is mainly because of these bikes, which offer fuel efficiency along with sporty and classy bodies. The prices of the bike start from Rs 84,675 to Rs 92,675 (ex-showroom Delhi).

2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R – Price In India

As mentioned before, the CB Hornet 160R is available in a total of 4 variants. The base variant retails at INR 84,675. While the top-spec version is going to cost INR 92,675. These prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R – Design

The bike looks very muscular and bulky. Might look like a rough rugged bike too. Hornet carries the popular muscular looks despite weighing lower than Apache. It gets a diamond type frame with the engine as a stressed member. It feels very nimble to maneuver and changes direction easily without requiring much effort but the TVS is noticeably sportier. However, reports say that the riding experience was not that good. In the front, it gets its LED headlamps with LED DRLs in the cowl, which houses the digital speedometer too. Over the body, it gets a lot of graphics and decals. The exhaust looks good, much copied from the other Honda bikes. Overall, it surely looks sporty but feels a little heavy too.

2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R – Engine Specifications

The latest iteration of the CB Hornet comes with the same engine specifications as before. As a result, it gets the 162.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This motor produces 14.9 BHP of power along with 14.5 Nm of peak torque. The bike gets a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard across the variant range. The 2018 Hornet now comes with ABS which is available as an optional extra. This has made this bike the first in the segment to offer this feature. This system is a single-channel unit.

Hornet records an estimated mileage of 43 KMPL with a driving range of 580 Kms. The bike comes with a fuel tank capacity of 12 Litres and a reserve tank capacity of 2 litres. It records a top speed of 110 KMPH. It takes 16.9 seconds to reach 100 km/hr.

The exterior styling of the new Hornet is quite similar to the model that it will replace. That said, the bike comes with new graphics and a set of new color options. Furthermore, with this update, the CB Hornet gets full LED headlamps. Also, despite the bike having the same instrument cluster, it gets new housing and blue backlit instead of Amber. That said, it does not get the gear position indicator.

2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R – Competition

The 2018 CB Hornet will compete against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar 160 NS, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. All of them fall in the same price range with similar features.

Apache is a tough competitor because of its good features list and decent styling. Also, the top-end variant of Hornet is the highest priced amongst its competitors. It fairs well against the other bikes, but it offers ABS, which only Gixxer offers it. Here, the brand image of Honda also plays a big role.

Royal Enfield Electric Bike
Interesting Facts You Should Know

Check out few interesting facts you should know about the Royal Enfield Electric Bike. Last year, RE confirmed its development and possible launch in 2020. It is expected to cost Rs 4 Lakhs to Rs 5 Lakhs easily, due to the growing popularity of Electric Vehicles.

At the international unveiling of the 650 twins, Royal Enfield, CEO, Sidhartha Lal stated that the company would not shy away from electric bikes but will only invest when the time is right. In an interview at the X-twins launch, company president, Rudra tej Singh a.k.a. Rudy quoted, ” Royal Enfield has several projects in the pipeline and electric platform is one of them. We are in an investment phase of the project where we have a team that is working on different ideas and concepts with a long-term focus. We will disclose our plans at an appropriate time.” The upcoming Electric Bike will be based on an entirely new platform. Here are five facts you must know about the upcoming electric bike.

The concept of EVs is still under development in India. Electric scooters have started coming to India and the Electric cars are also expected to launch in India by 2020. However, the concept of an electric bike is still unheard. Tork 6X and Emu flux One are the only two proper electric bikes in India. Sometime back, Siddhartha Lal, RE Chief confirmed the development of Royal Enfield Electric bike and might launch in 2020. That’s when most of the EVs are expected to launch. If it loses its original exhaust note, then the bike might find it difficult to find any takers. Most of the buyers are fascinated by its exhaust note only. When the bike is launched, we expect it to be priced around Rs 4 lakhs to Rs 5 Lakhs, which might make it the costliest RE. Without any further ado, check out the expectations that of this bike.

1. Royal Enfield Electric Bike – Launch Date

The upcoming Royal Enfield Electric Bike will feature a battery pack in the space acquired by the engine right now. The concept is expected to showcase at the 2020 Auto Expo. The production variant will sometime post 2020.

2. Royal Enfield Electric Bike – Price in India

Considering the inflation rate and the stringent government norms coming in, a Himalayan in 2021 will cost over to INR 2.5 lakh. The Indian government also is not going to incentivize electric vehicles till 2030. We expect the upcoming Royal Enfield Electric Bike to cost upwards of INR 4 lakh.

3. Royal Enfield Electric Bike – An Electric Cruiser?

Royal Enfield’s brand image comes from cruisers. The Bullet and the Thunderbird are still the highest selling models of the brand. Right now, the only electric bike to feature a decent range is the Emflux One with 200km on a single charge. They use a Lithium-ion battery pack, an aerodynamic body, lightweight materials and an intelligent power management system. Can Royal Enfield develop something to beat this?

4. Royal Enfield Electric Bike – Engine Specifications:

The new Royal Enfield Electric Bike might take some inputs from the Harley Davidson Livewire. The Livewire concept was showcased at EICMA a couple of years ago. Harley claims that it will go into production by the end of 2019. In terms of range, the Harley electric bike too can afford to travel for 88km in economy mode. If Royal Enfield tries really hard and stretches the range to even 250 km, it would rule the segment, but considering how price conscious the automaker is, a more realistic figure of 150km should do.

5. Royal Enfield Electric Bike – Which Type Of Bike?

Description: https://cdnx.tribalfusion.com/media/37536.gif
The news about the upcoming Royal Enfield Electric Bike revolves around the development of the platform. This means that Royal Enfield will actually launch multiple bikes using the same platform. Remember KTM, how the Duke and RC share the same platform yet are worlds apart. Royal Enfield could bring in twins much the 650 ones. More details will be available about this as we near the launch.
